Furniture Refinishing – Introducing Wehrli Furniture Co.!!

Since 1983, Wehrli Woodworks has been Chicagoland’s complete source for furniture restoration and refinishing. We continue to specialize in restoring furniture of all periods and styles. Recently, we changed our name/logo to Wehrli Furniture Co. to further highlight our commercial and residential services. Our new logo reflects our four featured services; including furniture restoration, upholstery, painting and custom design. 

Furniture refinishing/restoration can take a piece of furniture in the worst state and make it look new again. Refinishing furniture entails stripping, sanding, staining and spraying with lacquer. Sometimes the piece of furniture is broken or missing pieces. This is where a full restoration would be required. We have the ability to make new pieces, replace veneer and fix even the worst breaks.

Often during the restoration/refinishing process, upholstery is needed. Upholstery can simply entail replacing the existing fabric and adding welting or nails for the trim. If the piece of furniture is in really bad shape, we can replace the foam and springs, if necessary. No job is too big or too small as we’ve upholstered as many as one hundred chairs at a time.  If you’ve got a dining room set or a number of booths or chairs for your establishment we can meet your needs.

Custom painting is a great way to transform dull furniture. Our lacquer-based paint matches any Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams color. If a solid color isn’t the way you’d like to go, we can also glaze or distress the piece. Glazing entails painting with a base coat and then adding various tones over the solid color. Distressing would involve painting the piece and back sanding to make the piece look worn.

Finally, our custom design can build any piece of furniture for commercial and residential clients. The process begins by understanding the customer’s specific needs. From there, we provide detailed CAD drawings and make adjustments as needed. Recently, we’ve built desks, vanities and live-edge kitchen tables.
